May 2015 Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Tennessee The broad-headed skink gets its name from the wide jaws, giving the head a triangular appearance. Adult males are brown or olive brown in color and have bright orange heads during the mating season in spring. Females have five light stripes running down the back and the tail, similar to the Five-lined Skink. Juveniles are dark brown or black and also striped and have blue tails.
My love of the arts began at a young age. Always one to enjoy color and light, it was clear early on that I would share my passion with others. Through my innovative fine art photography, I am able to enhance the world as I see it, creating memorable and unique images. I am endlessly inspired by the nature around me and especially influenced by flowers, scenery, and wildlife. I hope you enjoy browsing my gallery and that you find a special piece that will enable you to bring a bit of the outdoors into your home or business. Each photograph is created using my impeccable technique and passion, which is clearly evident in each and every photograph.

Hi Carl, I enjoy this skink photo. I have a couple skinks who hang out on my patio and I enjoy their interaction with humans. They are very engaging. I also like the background you give on the wildlife. Well done! Best regards, Sharon
